Macedonian Business and Professional Society - Activities and Programs
MakMentors Program
MakMentors is the MBPS informal mentorship program. Those wishing to enter a professional field, start a business, or expand a business often have questions and concerns that are best addressed by those with practical experience in such matters.
The MakMentors Program provides such individuals with a resource of fellow Macedonians with such experience to which they can turn to and learn from, a resource that the Macedonian community in North America has been without for too long.
Under the MakMentors Program, Macedonian businesspeople and professionals volunteer their time to answer questions and concerns from professional school students, university students, fellow professionals and businesspeople, and entrepreneurs. The program is based on informal communications, telephone conversations, e-mail communications, and personal meetings.
Participants are not "assigned" mentors, there are no evaluation forms or mentorship reports to fill out, there is no requirement that a given mentor spend a set amount of time with a given participant or go through a given set of pre-designed mentorship activities.
Businesspeople and Professionals of all types are available to mentor participants under this program. If you are student considering a career in or are already in any of the following professional fields: Law, Medicine, Accounting, Financial Services, Insurance, Information Technology, Engineering, Advertising, Education, Management Consulting, Pharmaceuticals, and Culinary Arts; MBPS can put you in touch with Macedonian-Americans and Macedonian-Canadians in all of these fields and others.
In addition to various professional fields, MBPS can connect participants with Macedonian-American and Macedonian-Canadian Businesspeople from all manner and size of businesses.
For more information on MakMentors, to serve as a Mentor, or if you would like to take advantage of this resource, please send an email to mbps@macedonian.org.
Participation in this program is open to all MBPS members in accord with the Program Guidelines.
