MPO Representatives Meet with New U.S. Ambassador to Macedonia
In August 2005, MPO National Vice President of the United States Vladimir Atseff, MPO Central Committee Member Fritz Chaleff, and MPO member Stephanie Atseff represented the MPO at a meeting with the new Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Macedonia, Gillian Arlette Milovanovic.
At the meeting, the Republic of Macedonia's membership in NATO and the European Union, the resolution of the final status of Kosovo, the demarcations of Macedonia's border with Kosovo, resolution of the "name dispute" with the Hellenic Republic, and humanitarian assistance and private investment opportunities in the Republic of Macedonian were discussed.
Mr. Atseff provided Ambassador Milovanovic with copies of the 2004 MPO Convention Resolutions and several issues of the Macedonian Tribune featuring articles on the MPO's past interaction with the past U.S. Ambassadors to the Republic of Macedonia and with the Republic of Macedonia's Ambassadors to the U.S. Mr. Atseff also encouraged Ambassador Milovanovic to visit the various communities in the Republic of Macedonia and seek out the opinions and concerns of average Macedonian citizens.
Following the meeting, the MPO representatives, along with representatives from other Macedonian organizations, attended an informal social reception with Ambassador Danilovic and Macedonian Ambassador to the United States, Nikola Dimitrov.
