Tell your US House of Representatives to “Vote No” on H Res. 356
How to contact your US House Rep
As you have been reading in the Tribune, Vlad Atseff has worked hard in Washington literally visiting Representatives serving in the US Congress office-to-office in regards to House Resolution 356.
It implies that Macedonia is hostile and refuses to resolve the name issue with Greece.
There is no FYROM. Macedonia is the Republic of Macedonia. President George W. Bush officially recognized it as such on Nov. 4, 2004, and more than 100 other countries also have done so.
But Greece stubbornly refuses to acknowledge the fact, and attempts to incorrectly educate elected members of the US House of Representatives through this resolution and works to influence them to vote for it passage.
During a June teleconference, current MPO chapter presidents were updated and urged to continue inspire the entire MPO membership to continue the campaign to get this resolution voted down.
Call your elected representatives and emphatically state he/she must abide by our government’s official stance – vote against the resolution. Let them know Macedonia does not intend to encroach on Greece nor any claims to any part of Greece.
To find out who your rep is, go to www.house.gov and do a search by your zip code. Also, in the 2007 edition of the Macedonian Tribune, you will see a letter refuting the Greek claims from representatives Mark Souder, Ind., Bill Pascrell Jr., N.J., and Harry Mitchell, Ariz. Many thanks to them for telling the truth.
