Delegates of MPO chapters set pace for coming year

It was business as usual for delegates to the 86th Annual MPO Convention. The rules, financials, budget and resolutions were adopted as presented.

After a lengthy discussion, cost of membership was increased from $20 to $25 dollars, and cost of a MACEDONIAN TRIBUNE subscription increased from $35 to $40.

Nick Nicoloff, Detroit; Larry Koroloff, Toronto, and Todorov were appointed to a committee to look into whether or not it is feasible to reward those chapters that increase membership by allowing additional delegates for every 25 members. Presently, large chapters are limited to three delegates no matter how many members they have.

A proposal by MPO “Kostur” – Fort Wayne would allow a fourth delegate for a chapter membership between 76 and 100 members, and a fifth for a membership between 101 and 125, etc.

The Central Committee will appoint a committee of attorneys to look into the legality of allowing a chapter to be formed in Skopie, Republic of Macedonia. It also will appoint a committee to study whether or not a banquet continues to be a practical convention event.

Regular committees which are appointed annually include: Audit Committee – George Tsakoff, Detroit; Greg Chachoff, Columbus, and Fred Meanchoff, Toronto; Resolution Committee – Vlad Atseff, Montclair, Va.; Phil Nicol, Toronto and Lou Todorov, Boston.

Larry Koroloff, Toronto, was elected to the Central Committee at the end of business. Other members are George Lebamoff, president; Nick Nicoloff and Nick Stefanoff, vice-presidents, Andrea Alusheff, secretary; Lupka Baloski, treasurer; Janice Chachoff, Dr. George Georgieff, Larry Koroloff and Thomas Lebamoff, directors.

President Lebamoff chaired the meeting and presented the Annual Report, required by the bylaws. Secretary Alusheff presented the credentials and the rules, and Treasurer Baloski presented the financials and budget. Chris Panoff of Portland, Ore., served as parliamentarian.
